Change Your Words To Change Your Life
If you talk shit you are going to get shit.
“ I’m going to fucking go home, get this shitting stuff sorted and then tell them to all fuck off”
Fancy a drink with the person above? Didn't think so.
This quote is an extreme example but it makes the point. How we communicate really affects what we create and attract within our lives. If our thoughts become things, our words communicate them. You get what you talk about most.
If you are in a foreign land and you don't know the word in the right language you're not going to get what you want. Your life right now is exactly the same. The inner you is changing, you want different things. To help you get those things you need to adapt and allow your use of language to grow too. Telling you to talk more positively would be an easy option. This is about discovering a new language that will get you your desires. If something is repeated over and over it becomes a habit. How much of your conversation is a habit.
How many times do you need something, want or try? Remember you get what you talk about most. Do you want to become more needy and try?
"In it' you know what I mean, 'Yeah". Are you the person that always talks of illness and is ill all the time? If you want to change your life, change the way you speak within it. Sometimes it's hard to talk about what we want as we don't know the right word to describe it. If we can't find the word to express ourselves how can we truly know and trust that it even exists.
This is not about changing your accent. This is not about pretending you are someone else. This is not about having a degree or training to be a doctor. This is about opening your world to new ideas and new opportunities by using words that excite you in your daily chat. These words will aid your thoughts and with these new thoughts come your new visions and the creation of your future. Do you use the word rape in your day-to-day conversation? You don't, because it's not nice and you don't want it. When it comes to extremes we know what we don't want and automatically don't use them but when it comes to what we want more of we don't allow the word to become a habit in our daily conversation.
Remember we get what we talk about most in our life. I can't remind you of those words enough. What you talk about you make happen so watch your words. Would you like to get more virtue, stimulation and opportunity in your life? Well start talking about it then.
And remember to 'want' more virtue stimulation and opportunity in your life will only lead you to more wanting. What words describe the opposite of want? Start using those alongside virtue, stimulation and opportunity in your sentences. God knows how? you may be thinking but don't panic, you will work it out.
It's all in the words and the intent behind them. Using new words will feel like you're talking a strange language at first but eventually they will fit with you, be yours and become actions within your life.
TASK
The first part of your mission is to lose the words try, need and want from your personal dictionary. Look up their opposites and learn how to communicate your point from a word that suggests that you already have it now or at least in the process of getting it. For example, allow, 'try' to become 'will do' 'need' and 'want' can become 'I am' or 'when I have' or 'going to'. It may seem hard at first but you will get there. When you notice you have said any of the evil 3, actually write the sentence down, re-order and reverse the words to make it a positive and make sure you say it out loud at least 5 times to help this new language become part of you.
The second part of your mission is to look up a word to use in your everyday language in a dictionary for as many days as you feel appropriate. This can be a totally new word or a word you just don't use enough. Remind yourself of these new words and welcome them back into your daily conversations. The word has to resonate with you, it has to excite you and be part of who you are. You don't need to fill yourself with words that don't make sense. Using words you don't truly understand will just make you look and sound like an insincere fake and you did enough of that when you were talking shit pissed up on coke, so it's time to move on. And bucket may sound amusing if you say it fast 20 times but its not quite what we are trying to do here. You have to believe in the word and want more of it in your world.
Write the word on the back of your hand and use it as much as you can throughout your day. Write it within your blogs, and stick it notes on your laptop. Put it everywhere. The aim of this is to get that word well and truly in your head so that in two weeks time when it is the perfect word for you to use within a heated pub debate it will be all ready and waiting for you to pull from your memory.
How often should you learn a new word to put in the new daily chat memory bank? Well that's up to you. Try to notice your language and how you communicate. If you find it hard to find the right words you need to do this exercise as often as you can.
